Marble Falls – Founded in 1887 by Adam R. Johnson Marble Falls is located on the banks of Lake Marble Falls. Located in the picturesque Highland Lakes Area of the Texas Hill Country Marble Falls is the retail hub for this area and offers plenty of shopping, dining, and entertainment, fishing, watersports and year around golf.
Before the construction of the dams that created the Highland Lakes, the Colorado River flowed freely. In this area there was a 20′ ledge, which resembled marble that the water cascaded over in, giving the City its name, Marble Falls.
